On the Recipients page, selecting recipients of an email series differs from a simple campaign. You do not select contacts by hand, you pick them with contact tags. The recipients of the series are all contacts that have at least one of the chosen tags assigned.
How to select recipients of the series
- In the Labels field, select one or more tags. The selection is saved right away and Quanda recalculates the numbers on the page. The Labels button next to the field opens tag management.
- Below the field you see Selected contacts, that is how many contacts have the chosen tags.
- In the Send from selected contacts to these segments part, turn the segments by openability on or off: Fans, Active, Inactive, Sleeping, Zombies and Ghosts. Each segment shows its number of contacts. Quanda does not send the series to contacts in a segment that is turned off. How the segments are created is described in the article Contact scoring by open rate.
- Click Save and E-mail Editor and continue by creating the parts of the series.

If you chose a new tag, there will be no contacts among the recipients yet. They are added automatically at the moment you assign the tag to them. You can assign a tag manually, by import, or through an automation in an email campaign, a form or a survey. This way you can start the series with a click in an email, a form submission or a particular answer in a survey, for example.
How recipients move through the series
Recipients gradually receive the individual parts. Contacts you assign the tag to later are always placed in the first part, and Quanda sends them the first part at the nearest mailing date. This also applies to a series that is already running.
You have an overview in the table below the segments. For each part you see the columns Part of a series, E-mail Subject, To send (how many recipients are waiting for the part to be sent) and Recipients with the Show List link, which shows the specific contacts.
The last row of the table belongs to the Recipients who passed the last part. When you turn on the option After sending the last email, automatically move all recipients to the beginning again. there, they start receiving the series again from the first part.
Which contacts do not receive the series
Unsubscribed contacts are not shown on the page and Quanda does not send them the series. Quanda excludes blacklisted contacts from the mailing. These are addresses where the last delivery attempt failed. Quanda returns some of them to the mailing by itself after a while, others, such as addresses that no longer exist, stay on the blacklist permanently. After each part is sent, you will find the list of undelivered emails in the Statistics. More in the article Blacklisted contacts.
