Birthday wishes and name day wishes are two automatic email campaigns in Quanda. Every day at the time you choose, they compare today's date with the Date of birth field, or the Name day or anniversary field for name day wishes, and send the wishes to the contacts whose date matches. You create them in the top menu Emails with Create a new Campaign. You set the campaign up once and it then runs on its own.

What to prepare before creating the campaign

No date, no wishes. A contact with an empty field never gets its turn, even with the right tag.

You fill in the date of birth by importing contacts, with a field in a form or by transferring it from your CRM. When importing, use the format 01.01.2019 or 1.1.2019. Preparing the file is described in the article Export of contacts and preparation for their import.

You fill in the name day by import as well, into the Anniversary field of the contact. Quanda does not fill in name days automatically in the English interface, so you look up the date for each first name in Excel using a name day table of your country. The whole procedure is described in the article Importing name day dates.

How to create the campaign step by step

The steps are the same for both campaigns.

  1. In the top menu Emails, click Create a new Campaign.
  2. Type a name in the Type a name here. field, for example Birthday wishes for regular customers.
  3. Click Create under Birthday wish, or under Anniversary wish for the name day campaign.
  4. On the Settings page, check the individual fields and click Save → Recipients.

What to set on the Settings page

  • Language: the language of the supporting texts of the email, such as the unsubscribe text, the unsubscribe page and the link to view the email in a browser. If you send wishes to German speaking customers, choose German.
  • Content category: the topic the wishes belong to. On the unsubscribe page, recipients can choose which content categories to unsubscribe from.
  • Project Manager: the user responsible for the campaign. With automatic sender selection, Quanda uses this user for contacts that have neither a contact owner nor a company owner.
  • Co-workers: other users who will see the campaign in their overview.

Who sees the campaign depends on the user role. Admin and Manager see all campaigns, Project manager only their own and those where they are among the co-workers. A Seller has to add themselves to the Co-workers field when creating the campaign, otherwise they lose access to it after saving the Settings page.

The items on the Settings page cannot be changed once the campaign has started.

What comes after Settings

  1. Selecting recipients in a birthday and name day campaign: tags and segments by openability.
  2. Email editor in a birthday and name day campaign: the wishes with a salutation.
  3. Setting up mailing in a birthday and name day campaign: sender, test and start.
