The statistics of a birthday and name day campaign are cumulative: the campaign sends greetings continuously, every day to those who have a birthday or name day that day, and the statistics add up the results of all sendings since the campaign started. You find them in the campaign in the left menu on the Statistics page and they contain the same data as the statistics of a simple e-mail campaign.

What you find on the Statistics page

  1. General overview: the summary numbers Sent, Delivered, Undelivered, Opened Total, Opened Uniquely, Unopened, Clicks total, Clicks uniquely, SPAM Reports and Unsubscribed for all sendings so far. When the e-mail contains social media icons, each of them shows the number of recipients who clicked it.
  2. General overview in time: a chart of how the numbers grew day by day. You hide or show the lines of the chart by clicking their caption below the chart. For this campaign the chart is the most useful part of the statistics, because it shows when the greetings went out and when recipients opened them.
  3. Success rate: deliverability, open rate and click rate as percentages.
  4. Detailed overview: lists of recipients who opened the greeting, did not open it, clicked individual links, did not receive it, marked it as spam or unsubscribed.

What each number counts is explained in the article What the terms in statistics mean. The reasons for non-delivery are described in the article Reasons for undelivered emails.

How to read the statistics of this campaign

  • Judge the campaign by the unique numbers. Opened Uniquely and Clicks uniquely count each recipient only once, while the "total" numbers add up every open and click.
  • Birthday and name day greetings tend to have a much higher open rate than regular campaigns, because they are personal and arrive on the day the recipient expects them. When the open rate is low, check the subject and the mailing settings, mainly the sending time.
  • Correct undelivered addresses in time. The campaign runs all year and a faulty address would not receive the greeting next time either. How to handle undeliverable contacts is described in the article Blacklisted contacts.
  • When the campaign contains a link, for example to a gift or a discount, watch in the E-mail links part how many recipients clicked it.

How to export the statistics

With the Statistics Export icon you download the whole statistics to Excel as an xlsx file. It contains the same sheets as the export of a simple email campaign: an overview with the name, subject line and time of sending, recipient lists with the company, tags, time of the action and device, the daily trend, links and reasons for unsubscribing. Percentages are numbers in the file that Excel calculates with right away.

Frequently asked questions

The campaign sends e-mails continuously, every day to those who have a birthday or name day that day. The statistics are cumulative, they add up all sendings since the campaign started, so the numbers grow as long as the campaign is active.

The development over time is shown by the General overview in time chart, where you see when the e-mails went out and when recipients opened them. You find particular recipients in the lists in the lower part of the page.

Opened Total adds up all opens, so a recipient who opens the greeting ten times adds 10. Opened Uniquely counts recipients, each only once. Judge the success by the unique numbers.

In the lower part of the statistics page, in the list of undelivered e-mails, each address shows the reason for non-delivery. Correct the faulty addresses so that the greeting arrives next year.
