A contact owner is a user of your Quanda account, usually the salesperson who looks after the contact. You set it in the contact detail in the Contact Owner field, in bulk by import using the user's email, or automatically when contacts are transferred from Raynet CRM. The owner is mainly used for automatic sender selection, which sends the campaign to each contact in the name of their salesperson.

How to set the contact owner

Only a Quanda user can be an owner. Create the salesperson first in the top menu under ..., Settings, Users, see Management and adding of users. Then you have these options:

  • Manually: in the contact detail, pick the user in the Contact Owner field and save the contact.
  • By import: in the import file, create a Contact owner column and enter the email of the user who should become the owner of each contact. Map the column to the Contact Owner field during the import. The procedure is in the Contact import guide.
  • With a form: a form automation can set an owner for the contact who submitted the form. More in Automation in a form.
  • From Raynet CRM: when contacts are transferred from Raynet, the owner from Raynet is set. A user with the same email must exist in Quanda, see Connecting Quanda and Raynet CRM.

How automatic sender selection works

On the campaign's Sending page, choose Automatically in the Sender settings section. Quanda then picks the sender for each contact separately in this order:

  1. the contact owner,
  2. if the contact has no owner, the owner of the company the contact belongs to,
  3. if that is missing too, the campaign manager chosen on the Settings page.

One campaign can therefore have several senders, and the customer gets the email from someone they know. Details are in Setting up mailing in a simple email campaign.
