On the Recipients page you select the contacts the campaign will be sent to. You filter contacts by tags or in the Advanced Filter and add them to the campaign by selecting them. That turns contacts into recipients.

What you find on the page

At the top there is a switch between List of All Contacts and List of selected Contacts. The first list shows all the contacts you choose from, the second only the contacts that are already in the campaign.

Next to the switch you see two indicators:

  • To send is the number of contacts the campaign will be sent to.
  • Openability estimation according to selected contacts shows what share of the selected contacts will probably open the e-mail. The estimate appears once enough of the selected contacts have a calculated openability. Until then you will see a note that the estimate is unavailable because too few contacts have a known average openability.

How to filter contacts by tags

  1. In the Contact Labels field, select one or more tags. You will find more about how to create tags and assign them to contacts in the articles Tags and Export of contacts and preparation for their import.
  2. Click Filter.
  3. If you selected more than one tag, Quanda asks: How do you wish to filter out contacts? Choose "Choose the contacts that have at least one of the selected labels." or "Choose the contacts that have all the selected labels." You can open the same choice later with the Filter Info link next to the tag field.

The Cancel button removes the filter and shows all contacts again.

How to use the Advanced Filter

To filter by other data, click the orange Advanced Filter button on the right. The Advanced Contact Filter window opens with five parts:

  • By contact details: Name, Surname, Email, Contact Labels, Contact owner, Work Position, City, ZIP, Region, Gender, Anniversary Day, Anniversary Month, Date of birth and Purpose of personal data processing.
  • By sent campaigns: you filter by what contacts did with your earlier e-mails. In Filter by you choose from Date, Campaign name, Email subject, Event, Opened emails, Sender and Purpose Validity (GDPR), then fill in Specify and Value. With + Add next you add more conditions and combine them, Delete Filter clears the filter again.
  • By user fields in contacts: the content of your user fields.
  • By company details: Company Labels, Assigned and the Contact Persons Only option.
  • By user fields in companies: the content of company user fields.

Fill in only the fields you need and click Filter.

How to select contacts and add them to the campaign

You add the filtered contacts to the campaign by selecting them. You select a single contact by ticking its row. To select contacts in bulk, click the checkbox in the table header and choose one of the options:

  • Select All on this Page selects the contacts on the current page of the list.
  • Select All selects all filtered contacts.
  • Unselect All on this Page and Unselect All remove the contacts from the campaign again.

By filtering, selecting and unselecting you can build all kinds of combinations and pick exactly the group of recipients you need. After every selection the To send number is recalculated and the page saves itself.

How to improve openability before sending

When the openability estimate is available, the I want to improve openability button appears below it. It opens the Analysis of the openability of selected contacts panel:

  • At the top you see the openability estimate and how much it can be improved.
  • In the Segmentation by openability part, the selected contacts are split into the segments Fans, Active, Inactive, Sleeping, Zombies and Ghosts. Each segment shows the number of contacts and their share.
  • Segments that lower openability have a Remove contacts from the campaign button and a figure showing how much openability will rise after removing them. You can undo a removal.
  • The Remove recommended button removes all recommended segments at once.
  • Confirm the changes with the Done button, the Cancel button discards them.

Openability is calculated only for contacts you have sent at least 5 e-mail campaigns to. Other contacts appear in the panel as "Unknown". How the segments are created is described in the article Contact scoring by open rate.

Which contacts you will not find on the page

Unsubscribed contacts are not shown on the Recipients page, so you cannot add them to a campaign. That is why the number of contacts in the contact list can differ from the number on this page.

Quanda excludes blacklisted contacts from the mailing. These are addresses where the last delivery attempt failed. Quanda returns some of them to the mailing by itself after a while, others, such as addresses that no longer exist, stay on the blacklist permanently. After the campaign is sent, you will find the list of undelivered e-mails in the Statistics. Correct the faulty addresses, and you can delete permanently blacklisted contacts. More in the article Blacklisted contacts.

Once you have the recipients selected, click Done and E-mail Editor below the contact list and continue by creating the e-mail.
