In spring 2021 Quanda gained four updates: automatic sender selection for email campaigns, fully responsive forms embedded in a web page, the contact owner and an API extension for the contact owner and for passing on unsubscribed contacts. In this article you will learn what each update does, where to set it up in Quanda, in what order Quanda picks the sender and what works differently today than in 2021.

Key takeaways

  1. Set the campaign sender manually or automatically, based on who takes care of the contact.
  2. The automatic sender follows this order: contact owner, company owner, campaign manager.
  3. A contact owner is a Quanda user, assigned in bulk with an import that has a Contact owner column.
  4. Embed a form with two codes: the activation code in the header, the display code in the page.
  5. Through the API you assign the contact owner from your website or CRM.
  6. Quanda sends unsubscribed contacts to your system with the Unsubscribe webhook.

In brief: what is new, since when, who it concerns and where to find it

  • What is new: automatic sender selection, responsive embedded forms, the contact owner and API support for the contact owner and unsubscribed contacts.
  • Since when: since spring 2021.
  • Who it concerns: companies that want to send emails on behalf of their salespeople or consultants, and everyone with a Quanda form on their website or Quanda connected to a CRM.
  • Where to find it: on the Sending page of an email campaign, on the contact and in the contact import, on the form's Insert code page and in the API documentation.

Companies that want to communicate with their customers on behalf of their salespeople or consultants will appreciate this option the most.

What has changed since this article was published: According to the current help centre, the automatic sender is picked in three steps: contact owner, company owner and campaign manager. The steps are in the guide Setting up mailing in a simple campaign. Since 6 October 2026 new forms are built in the new form editor, which embeds the form on your website as HTML instead of an iframe and lets you design the desktop and mobile versions separately. The process is described in the article How to create a signup form that collects new email addresses. Unsubscribed contacts are now sent to your system by the Unsubscribe webhook, described in the API documentation.

1. Automatic sender selection for email campaigns

Automatic sender selection is a setting with which Quanda sends each recipient the email on behalf of the user in charge of that contact. You will find it on the Sending page of an email campaign, in the sender settings. You choose from two options:

  • Manually: all emails are sent on behalf of the selected user.
  • Automatically: the sender is picked for each contact according to the order in the table below.
The Sending page of a Quanda email campaign: in the sender settings the Manually option with the user Jan Spáčil is selected, below it the Automatically option and further down the choice of the reply-to address
Choose the campaign sender on the Sending page, manually as one user or automatically by contact owner.
The order in which Quanda picks the automatic sender, according to the current help centre.
Order Who sends the email When
1 Contact owner The contact has an owner assigned.
2 Company owner The contact has no owner but belongs to a company with an owner.
3 Campaign manager The contact has neither an owner nor a company with an owner.

One campaign can therefore go out from the addresses of several salespeople at once, without copying campaigns or complicated settings.

Tip: Only a user with a verified email address can be a sender, and for smooth delivery their sending domain has to be verified too. Check this for all your salespeople before the first automatic send. The steps are in the guide Setting up mailing in a simple campaign.

2. Responsive forms embedded in a web page

A responsive form is a form that adapts to the width of the screen, so it has the right size on a computer and on a phone. Since spring 2021 this also applies to Quanda forms placed permanently on a web page. You will find the embedding codes on the form's Insert code page.

If you already had a form on your website, it was enough to replace the display code with the new one. If you are just starting with forms, insert both codes:

The two codes for a form placed permanently on a web page.
Code Where to put it What it does
Activation code In the website header between the <head> and </head> tags Activates the form on your website.
Display code In the page's source code where the form should be Sets where the form appears.
The Insert code page of a Quanda form, section for showing a form fixed on the page, with the display code field highlighted
Put the display code into the page where the form should appear.
The same Insert code page with the activation code field highlighted, containing the script for the website header
The activation code goes into the website header between the head tags.

Tip: The form only works on a website with the secure https protocol. If your website runs on WordPress, you insert the header code with a plugin. Both are described in the guide Inserting the form code.

3. Contact owner

A contact owner is a Quanda user, usually a salesperson or consultant, who takes care of that contact. It looks like a small change, but it is very useful when sending campaigns: automatic sender selection from point 1 works by contact owner. Emails are then automatically sent on behalf of a person the customer knows.

You can also assign owners in bulk with a contact import. The steps:

  1. Create every salesperson as a user in the upper menu under … / Settings / Users.
  2. In the import file, create a separate column named Contact owner.
  3. For every contact, enter the email of the user who takes care of it in that column.
  4. Import the file. Quanda pairs the contact with the user based on the matching email address.

Tip: If you keep your contacts in Raynet CRM, the owner is transferred to Quanda automatically when contacts are exported, as long as Quanda has a user with the same email. The details are in the guide Contact owner.

4. API extension for the contact owner and unsubscribed contacts

An API is an interface through which Quanda exchanges data with your website, CRM or another system. In spring 2021 two options were added:

  • Contact owner field. In the API a contact has an owner field, where you enter one of the Quanda users. You can then assign the owner automatically from anywhere, and a campaign with automatic sender selection goes out from an address your clients know.
  • Passing on unsubscribed contacts. Quanda sends information about the unsubscribe back to your system, so you can keep track of unsubscribed contacts outside Quanda too. Today this is done by the Unsubscribe webhook.

The field and the webhook are described in the API documentation.

Tip: To log in through the API you need an API key. Create it under … / Settings / API keys / Add API key, as described in the guide API documentation and API key.

What to try in Quanda right now

Five steps to use these updates in your next campaign:

  • Create your salespeople as users and verify their emails and sending domain.
  • Add a Contact owner column to your contacts with an import.
  • On the Sending page of your next campaign choose automatic sender selection and send yourself a test email.
  • Check that the form on your website has the activation code in the header and displays correctly on a phone.
  • Set up the Unsubscribe webhook so that unsubscribes reach your CRM.
