An API key is the credential your application uses to sign in to the Quanda API. You create it in Quanda under Settings / API Keys with the Create a new API key button and send it in the header of every request. All calls are described in the API documentation, version 1.
How to create an API key
- In Quanda, click the three dots / Settings / API Keys.
- Click the green Create a new API key button.
- In the API Key Description field, enter a name you will recognize the key by, for example Raynet CRM or online store.
- Click Save. The key appears in the list, where you copy it.

In the Action column you change or delete a key. Protect the API key like a password and create a separate one for each application.
How to use the API key in a request
Send the key in the authorization header in the form Token followed by a space and your key. The API base URL is https://api.onquanda.com/api/. You can test the connection with the ping call:
GET https://api.onquanda.com/api/helper/ping/
content-type: application/json
authorization: Token YOUR_API_KEY
Through the API, Quanda behaves as if the administrator of your account were logged in. Access is limited by the rights and the plan of the account.
What limits the API has
- Send requests with one API key one after another, not in parallel.
- There is a 30 ms delay between the end of one request and the start of the next.
- If you access the API too often, it returns the 429 Too many requests code and the request has to be repeated.
- Some calls are limited by the amount of input data.
Where to find the API documentation
The current API documentation, version 1 covers contacts, tags, bulk import, email campaigns, transactional emails, recipients, surveys, users and webhooks. Ready connections without coding, for example with Raynet CRM, are described in Connect Quanda with your website, CRM or other software.
