You set up the sending logic on the Event-triggered Settings page: you drag the emails you created into a tree that branches into "Yes" and "No" under each email, and for each level you choose how many days later the follow-up emails go out. The "Yes" branch goes to recipients who clicked the tracked link in the previous email, the "No" branch to everyone else.

How to arrange the emails into a tree

At the top of the page are tiles of all emails you created in the Email Editor. Below them is the tree. The email created first is already in its first slot.

  1. Grab an email tile with the mouse and drag it onto a Here slot in the tree.
  2. Put the email for recipients who clicked the tracked link into the Yes branch.
  3. Put the email for recipients who did not click into the No branch.
  4. Continue the same way on the next level. The tree has at most three levels.

If you need to replace even the first email, drag another tile onto its place. Remove an email from the tree with the trash icon on its tile. You can leave a slot empty, no email is sent from it then.

The Event-triggered Settings page in Quanda: email tiles Reminder and Invitation at the top, below them a tree with Invitation in the first slot, the Send next e-mail(s) after field set to 7 day/days, an empty Here slot in the Yes branch, Reminder in the No branch and the Done → Sending settings button.
Logic campaign tree: Invitation and Reminder in the No branch.

In the picture, only recipients who did not click in the Invitation get the Reminder 7 days later. Recipients who clicked get nothing more, because the slot in the "Yes" branch is empty.

How to set when the next email goes out

For each level of the tree, choose the number of days in the Send next e-mail(s) after field, from 1 to 30. After that time Quanda evaluates the clicks on the tracked links and sends the follow-up emails from both branches.

The time is counted from the date and time the previous email was sent, not from the click. That is how a logic campaign differs from automation in a simple campaign, which reacts to an event for each recipient separately.

Example timing of a logic campaign with 7 days between levels.
When What happens
April 1, 10:00 am The first email goes out, the next email is set for 7 days later.
April 1, 1:00 pm Peter clicks the tracked link.
April 7, 6:00 pm Jane clicks the tracked link.
April 8, 10:00 am Peter and Jane both get the email from the "Yes" branch. At the same moment everyone who did not click gets the email from the "No" branch.

You decide which links Quanda tracks in the Email Editor with the Record the click for the logic campaign option. If you do not mark any link in an email, all recipients go to the "No" branch.

How to continue

When the tree is ready, click Done → Sending settings. On the Sending Settings page you choose the sender, send yourself test emails and send or schedule the campaign.

Frequently asked questions

All recipients who clicked a link marked with Record the click for the logic campaign in the previous email get the email from the Yes branch. It goes out after the time set in the Send next e-mail(s) after field, counted from sending the previous email.

From sending the previous email. If you set 7 days and the first email goes out on April 1 at 10 am, the follow-up emails go out to everyone on April 8 at 10 am, no matter when each recipient clicked.

In the Send next e-mail(s) after field you choose 1 to 30 days. You set the number of days for each level of the tree separately.

No email is sent from an empty slot. That is a common scenario, for example when you want to send a reminder only to people who did not click and nothing more to the Yes branch.

Remove an email from the tree with the trash icon on its tile. You can replace even the first email by dragging another tile onto its place.
