You can now get data from Quanda into Excel in a form you can calculate with straight away. Completed surveys download as an xlsx file with real numbers, dates and times, and scales, stars and smileys have a new column with a numeric value. The email campaign statistics export holds more data and percentages as numbers. In this article you will find what exactly has changed, where to find the exports and three tips on how to use them.

Key takeaways

  1. You download completed surveys to Excel as an xlsx file, the icon sits right next to the CSV icon.
  2. Numbers, dates, times and completion times are real values in xlsx, so Excel calculates with them right away.
  3. Scales, stars and smileys have a new column with the numeric value of the answer.
  4. From Response Analysis you download only the respondents who match the Advanced Results Filter.
  5. The campaign statistics export now includes the name, subject line, time of sending, companies, tags, devices and reasons for unsubscribing.

In brief: what is new, since when, who it concerns and where to find it

  • What is new: export of completed surveys to xlsx, a numeric value column for scale questions, export of selected respondents from the analysis and a richer export of email campaign statistics.
  • Since when: since 26 October 2026.
  • Who it concerns: everyone who evaluates surveys or campaigns in Excel and passes data from Quanda on to colleagues and management.
  • Where to find it: in a survey on the Completed Surveys and Response Analysis pages, in a campaign on the Statistics page under the Statistics Export icon.

1. Surveys: export to Excel with real numbers

Export to xlsx is a new format for downloading completed surveys alongside the existing CSV. You find it in the survey detail on the Completed Surveys page, in the top bar on the right. The XLSX icon sits right next to the Export surveys to CSV icon.

The XLSX icon sits right next to the CSV icon in the top bar.

The main difference is how values are written. Numbers, dates, dates with time and completion times (total time and time on page) are real values in the xlsx file, not text. Sums, averages, sorting, filters and charts therefore work in Excel right away, and you open the file with a double click, without any import.

Text always stays text. If a respondent writes something in an answer that looks like an Excel formula, the file shows it as plain text and nothing runs.

When to download completed surveys to xlsx and when to CSV
Format When it is useful
xlsx Evaluation in Excel: sums, averages, charts, pivot tables
CSV Import into another system, for example a CRM or a data analysis tool

CSV keeps the same format as before, it just has the same numeric value columns as xlsx. All export columns are described in the guide Completed surveys.

2. A numeric value for scales, stars and smileys

The numeric value is a new export column that turns the answer to a scale question into a number. You find it right next to the column with the text of the answer, and its header ends with “(numeric value)”.

  • Satisfaction scale, agreement scale and single choice scale: the position of the selected option.
  • Star and smiley rating: the number from the rating.

Answer weights, which you may use for scoring, stay hidden and are not exported. Previously you had to convert text such as “Rather satisfied” into a number by hand. Now you calculate the average, median or share of satisfied respondents with a single formula.

Tip: Calculate average satisfaction with the formula =AVERAGE(F2:F500) over the numeric value column. Add the column with the date of sending next to it, build a pivot table from the data and you will see how satisfaction develops month by month.

3. Export only selected respondents from Response Analysis

On the Response Analysis page, once you apply the Advanced Results Filter, CSV and XLSX icons appear above the results. The export contains only the respondents who match the filter.

The export icons are in the Filter Parameters box. The export contains only the filtered respondents.

This way you download, for example, only the answers of dissatisfied customers, only respondents with a certain tag or only surveys completed in the last month. How to set up the filter is described in the guide Analysis of answers.

Tip: Filter the respondents who chose the lowest rating in the satisfaction question and download them to xlsx. You get a list of people worth calling, together with their text answers.

Users with the permission to export completed surveys can export.

4. Campaign statistics: more data in the export

The Statistics Export icon is in the campaign top bar.

You download the email campaign statistics export on the Statistics page with the Statistics Export icon. It is an xlsx file with the data split into sheets, and it now includes:

  • Overview: the campaign name, the email subject line and the date and time of sending.
  • Contact lists (opened, clicked, unsubscribed and more): the company, the contact's tags and the date and time of the action. The opens sheet also has the number of opens and the device and browser, the click sheets the device and browser.
  • Unsubscribes: the reason for unsubscribing for each contact and a summary of the reasons.
  • Trend of opens and clicks: the sheet with unique opens and clicks by day now has columns for sent, delivered, undelivered, rejected, total opens, total clicks, logical clicks, unsubscribes and spam reports.
  • Links: the link text, URL, whether it is a logical link, and the placement of the link in the email.

The export stays fast even for large campaigns. The updates apply to a simple campaign, an email series, a logic campaign, a birthday and name day campaign and transactional emails. For a series and a logic campaign you export the statistics of each email separately. What the individual figures mean is explained in the guide What the terms in statistics mean.

Tip: With the name, subject line and time of sending in the overview, you can put the exports of several campaigns into one table and sort them by date. You will see at once which subject lines and sending days work best.

5. Percentages Excel can calculate with

Shares in the statistics export are now numbers with a percentage format, not text. This applies to the share of delivered, opened, clicks, unsubscribes and spam, shares by tags and links and the URL comparison in an A/B test. The average number of opens is a number in the “1.25x” format.

Excel calculates with these values directly, so you can turn them into a quarterly average or a chart without any adjustments. Nothing changes on the statistics page in Quanda.

Fixes in the A/B testing export

In the A/B campaign comparison export, the social sharing columns no longer overwrite the unsubscribe column, and the URL comparison sheet has each URL on its own row. The success rate sheet no longer has two “Unsubscribed” columns. All A/B test statistics are described in the guide Statistics in an A/B testing campaign.

What to try in Quanda right now

  • Download the completed surveys of your latest survey to xlsx and calculate the average from the numeric value column.
  • In Response Analysis, filter the dissatisfied respondents and download only them.
  • Export the statistics of your latest campaign and look at the sheet with the reasons for unsubscribing.
  • Put the exports of your last three campaigns into one table and compare them by date of sending.
