In Quanda you can delete only blacklisted contacts and contacts with no recorded relation in bulk. Bulk deletion leaves out unsubscribed contacts and contacts with a history, for example sent emails or a submitted form. You can still delete any single contact. The restriction protects the reputation of the sending environment that all Quanda customers share.
Which contacts you can delete in bulk
- Blacklisted contacts, meaning addresses that could not receive an email, see Blacklisted contacts.
- Contacts without a relation that you never sent anything to and that did not go through a form or a survey.
Which contacts cannot be deleted in bulk
- Unsubscribed contacts. They do not count towards the number of contacts in your plan, so you do not need to delete them because of the limit. Why to keep them is explained in Unsubscribed contacts.
- Contacts with any relation recorded in Quanda, for example a history of sent emails, a submitted form or a survey.
You can delete any single contact in Quanda, even an unsubscribed one or one with a history. How many contacts count towards your plan is described in Number of contacts in your account.
Why Quanda restricts bulk deletion
All Quanda customers share one sending environment. Its security and reputation are the key to good email delivery. When mail servers start to see a sender as unreliable, they treat all emails coming from it accordingly.
That is why Quanda:
- approves every new registration manually,
- goes through the source of email addresses with every new customer, including the legal aspects of personal data protection,
- regularly monitors deliverability, undelivered emails, spam complaints and unsubscribes for every account and deals with significant deviations personally with the customer,
- suspends or cancels the account if sending quality stays poor.
Quanda cannot process purchased, shared or machine harvested databases. Sending to them sharply increases undelivered emails, spam complaints and blocked emails and hurts the reputation of all users. Unrestricted bulk deletion would make uploading such databases easier. The customers who manage their databases honestly and only send to people they may send to would pay the price.
