You turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) in Quanda by clicking your profile photo in the top right corner and choosing Security: you scan a QR code in an authenticator app on your phone and enter the 6-digit code the app generates. From then on, a password alone is not enough to log in. Even if your password fell into the wrong hands, nobody gets into your account without the code from the app. We recommend it to everyone who wants their account better protected.
What you will need
A phone with an authenticator app that can scan a QR code and generate 6-digit codes, for example Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Install the app before you start the activation, so that you have both the QR code and your password at hand.
How to turn on two-factor authentication
- Click your profile photo in the top right corner and choose Security.

- Scan the displayed QR code in your authenticator app. If scanning does not work, enter the secret key shown under Can't scan? into the app manually.
- In the Enter the 6-digit code from the app field, type the code the app generated.
- Click Verify and Activate.

How you log in with 2FA turned on
Every time you log in, you enter your email and password as before, and Quanda also asks for the current code from your authenticator app. The code in the app changes regularly, so always type the one you see right now.
The account administrator can see under Settings / Users in the 2FA column which users have two-factor authentication turned on. Managing users is described in Management and adding of users, changing a password in How to change a user password.
