You add safe senders in the junk mail settings of your email client. In Outlook, on the Home tab click Junk, Junk E-mail Options, and on the Safe Senders tab add the sender's address. Emails from a safe sender, such as test emails from Quanda, then show up automatically with images and do not end up in the junk folder.
Some email clients have image display turned off by default for the emails they deliver. Adding a sender to your safe senders saves you from allowing images for each message separately.
How to add a safe sender in Outlook
- On the Home tab, click the Junk button and then Junk E-mail Options.
- Open the Safe Senders tab.
- Click Add and enter the sender's address, for example the address your Quanda test emails come from.
- Optionally tick Automatically add people I e-mail to the Safe Senders List. Outlook then treats everyone you write to as a safe sender.
- Confirm with OK.
A quicker way starts right from the message: right-click the email and in the Junk menu choose Never Block Sender.
How to allow images from a sender in Thunderbird
- On the main page, click the three bars icon and then Settings (Options in older versions).
- In Privacy & Security, under Mail Content, click Exceptions.
- Enter the sender's address, allow it and save the changes.
Will your recipients see images automatically too?
No. The safe senders list only applies to the mailbox where you set it up. Every recipient allows images on their own. That is why you should build emails that make sense even without images: put the key message in the text and fill in alternative text for images. See Can't see images in an email? Styled alt text shows a headline.
To get your emails delivered to your recipients' main inbox, verify your sending domain following How to set up DNS records for sending.
